My first camera was my mother’s Olympus Stylus. After shooting digital for years, I’ve fallen back in love with analogue because of the mindful relationship it has given me to my camera. Film photography is a form of meditation for me: slow and relaxed yet alert and intentional. With a limited number of shots, I’m able to be so deeply present with my subject as I craft and capture the fleeting moment. My favorite quote from iconic photographer Dorothea Lange – “The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”
